ProSeries Network Install

1. Log into the MyProSeries account.
2. Download and run the ProSeries installer.

Note: For more information on how to download ProSeries products from MyProSeries account see Downloading ProSeries Program From ProSeries Website.

3. Click the Next button on the Welcome screen of the ProSeries installation wizard.

4. Once the License agreement has been read, select the I accept the terms of the License agreement option and click the Next button if you agree and wish to continue the installation.

5. On the Installation Type screen of the ProSeries installation wizard select the Network option and click the Next button to begin.

6. Check the Yes, This is the computer I want to be the ProSeries "Admin" computer checkbox to confirm the computer running the installation wizard is being run on should be the Admin workstation for the ProSeries program and then click the Next button.

Note: The ProSeries admin computer is responsible for Updates, Licensing, Access Rights, and other settings that normal user workstations will not be able to change directly. To make a different computer the ProSeries "Admin" computer, cancel the installation wizard and start the installation at the other computer.

7. On the WorkStation Name screen, edit the name of this ProSeries workstation and click the Next button.

Note: By default the name will use the Windows Computer Name.

8. On the Network Installation Location screen, the Local Install Folder (Admin Workstation) and the Network Install Folder (Shared Files) location should be set to the Local drive. Click the Next button to continue the installation wizard.

Note: YY represents the two-digit for the tax year. For ProSeries 2015 the path would C:\ProWin15. In addition, If the folder locations do not exist they will be created when clicking the Next button.

9. In the Product Selections screen, check all the federal and state products that will be used to prepare tax returns. Click the Next button to install the selected ProSeries Formsets

Note: If any of the selected products are not available, you will see an Installation Note. These products will be downloaded and installed automatically with updates once they become available.

10. Click the Next button once the Application Settings have completed and all four boxed are checked.

11. Click the Finish button on the ProSeries is Installed screen to complete the ProSeries Admin Installation and open the ProSeries Tax Program for the first time.

1. Click the Next button begin the Connected Customer setup and to license ProSeries.

2. On the Customer Information screen enter the Customer Number and Zip Code.

Note: The Customer Number and Zip can be located on the Account Details section of the MyProSeries account or in the Sold to: section of ProSeries packing slip that is received in the mail.

3. Click the Next button to License ProSeries.

4. On the Progress screen, click the Next button to continue.

5. Review all Information and make any changes required and click the Next button to continue.

Note: To make changes to the Firm Name or Address, sign in to the associated Intuit account and access the Business/Personal Name Update Tool. Please allow 1 to 2 business days to process your request after which you can update the Firm Information by relicensing ProSeries (Tools > License Products...).

6. Review all licensed assets and click the Continue button to complete Licensing and to open the ProSeries Program.

7. ProSeries will check for available updates. Select to install updates now if updates are available.

8. Complete the ProSeries Options setup wizard by entering all Prepare and firm information and options. For additional information see INF28415

Note: After the installation and setup are complete on the Admin workstation instructions for installing ProSeries on User Workstations will be presented. We highly recommend that this information is saved or printed as it contains information and instructions that will help to install user workstations.

Note: If a prior year of ProSeries has previously been installed as a network it may be possible to skip this section as these actions would have been completed with the previous installation. Please review these steps and complete as necessary.

1. Navigate to the local disk using Windows Explorer. Commonly this will be the C:\ drive.
2. Right-click on the ProSeries folder and select to share this folder.
3. Set all users or Everyoneto have Full Control level of user permissions.

1. Map a Network Drive at each ProSeries User workstation to the ProSeries folder previously created and shared on the ProSeries Admin.

Note: For assistance in mapping to the correct location use the information in the Workstation Install Instructions that were displayed after installation of the admin computer. These instructions can be view again under the Help menu in the ProSeries program on the Admin computer.

2. Ensure that the network drive is mapped to the ProSeries folder and make sure all ProSeries user workstations can access the mapped network drive and open the ProNetYY folder.

1. Navigate to the mapped network drive using Windows Explorer.
2. Open the ProNetYY folder. ProNet15 for the ProSeries 2015 program.
3. Open the WKSTN folder.
4. Double-click the Setup.exe file to start the ProSeries User Workstation installation wizard.
5. Click the Next button on the Workstation Install Welcome screen of the ProSeries installation wizard.

6. On the WorkStation Name screen, edit the name of this ProSeries workstation and click the Next button.

Note: By default the name will use the Windows Computer Name.

7. On the Workstation Installation Folder location screen, the Workstation Install Folder location should be set to the local drive, Commonly C:\ProWinYY.

Note: The ProSeries program is installed to each computer and runs on the local computer. The tax data will be shared from the Admin computer, this is why the user workstations are installed to a local folder and not to the network drive.

8. Click the Next Button to install the ProSeries Workstation.
9. One the Application Settings screen, click the Next button once all configuration has completed and all checkboxes are checked.

10. Click the Finish button on the ProSeries is Installed screen to complete the ProSeries user workstation Installation and open the ProSeries Tax Program for the first time on this workstation.

Note: If a prior year of ProSeries has previously been installed as a network it may be possible to skip this section as these actions would have been completed with the previous installation. Please review these steps and complete as necessary.

1. Choose a location for the ProSeries network shared files and create a New Folder named ProSeries. Commonly this will be on the office Server sometime referred to as a shared drive or network drive.
2. Share the ProSeries folder
3. Set all users to have Full Control level of user permissions.

1. Choose which computer will be the ProSeries Admin workstation.

3. Ensure that the network drive is mapped to the ProSeries folder and make sure the ProSeries Admin workstation can now open this mapped network drive.

Note: For first time network installs it will be empty at this point. If installing a new version as a network, prior year ProNet folders may already exists in this folder.

1. Log into the MyProSeries account.
2. Download and run the ProSeries Installation file.

3. Click the Next button on the Welcome screen of the ProSeries installation wizard.

8. On the Network Installation Location screen, the Local Install Folder (Admin Workstation) location should be set to the local drive. The Network Install Folder (Shared Files) location should be set to the ProSeries shared network drive. Click the Next button to continue the installation wizard.

Note: YY represents the two-digit for the tax year. For ProSeries 2015 the path would C:\ProWin15. In addition, If the folder locations do not exist they will be created when clicking the Next button. The drive used for the Shared Files location will be the network location. Depending on the network configuration this location may appear with a drive letter or a network path.

9. In the Product Selections screen, check all the federal and state products that will be used to prepare tax returns. Click the Next button to install the selected ProSeries Formsets

Note: If any of the selected products are not available, you will see an Installation Note. These products will be downloaded and installed automatically with updates once they become available.

10. Click the Next button once the Application Settings have completed and all four boxed are checked.

11. Click the Finish button on the ProSeries is Installed screen to complete the ProSeries Admin Installation and open the ProSeries Tax Program for the first time.
